Born: 11/26/1916 Died: 06/03/1982 Inducted: 10/25/1997 Noble Lee was born on a farm near Minocqua, WI in 1916. He started flying lessons in Milwaukee earning his pilot certificate in 1940. He returned to the farm in 1946 and along with a brother constructed an airfield where he provided flight training for veterans until 1950. He moved his flight school to the Woodruff Airport, now Lakeland, where he served as the Fixed Base Operator and Airport Manager. Lee was among the first to keep statistics to prove the economic worth of an airport. He pioneered the use of rental cars at airports. |
