Lance Sijan, an American Hero
Wisconsin Veterans Museum, Madison
John and Rose Dorcey shared the dramatic story of Lance Sijan, Air Force Academy graduate, from Milwaukee. The audience listened as the story unfolded, how Sijan was "shot down", and how he evaded capture for over 46 days and how one American lived and died the "code" during his tour in Viet Nam. Senator John McCain (R-AZ) has described Sijan as a hero to other Viet Nam POWs.

The presentation coincided with the museum's opening of their Sijan display, part of the In the Belly of the Dragon: Life and Death in I Corps exhibit. The exhibit will be available for viewing through March 31, 2008. The museum is located at 30 West Mifflin Street, on the square, in downtown Madison.
