The ninth annual Wisconsin Aviation Hall
of Fame (WAHF) Induction Ceremony was again held in the facilities
of the Experimental Aircraft Association. The museum was open for
viewing at 3:00, meetings were held in the Batten Board Room
starting at 4:30 and the social hour began at 5:00. The social time
provided an opportunity to renew acquaintances and friendships, and
of course relive an exciting flight or two.
The evening's schedule was the same
as in year's past including another visit by Kathryn Duax who again
sang our national anthem. Following dinner, master of ceremonies
David Duax provided an overview of WAHF's goals and objectives. Bud
Jensen, Chairman of the Wisconsin Council on Aeronautics
congratulated the organization for its efforts.
Duane Esse, WAHF Director, shared the
story of and introduced Louis Wuilleumier. WAHF Director Bob Sather
then told of Art Scholl and introduced Art's widow Judy School. Earl
Pingel, newly elected WAHF President, told the audience of Archie
Henkelmann.
Previous inductees in attendance
included Warren Basler (1993), Dean Crites (1989), Carl Guell
(1990), Bill
Lotzer (1991), Paul Poberezny (1986), Roy Shwery (1992), and Steve Wittman
(1986).
Additional images of the ceremony are
