The 1988 Wisconsin Aviation Hall of Fame
induction ceremony followed a schedule similar to the previous two years. A no-host social hour held in the Fergus Plaza allowed for
visiting with old friends and meeting new ones. An invocation by
Reverend William J. Hower, 128th Air National Guard Chaplin,
preceded dinner which was held in the Goldwater Room. A
welcome by Dave Duax, the evening's Master of Ceremonies led into
presentations by Dr. Jack Kirby, Chairman of the Wisconsin Council
on Aeronautics and Stuart Herro, Wisconsin Aviation Hall of Fame
President.
The presentation of the inductees was
led by WAHF Director LaFonda Kinnamann's introduction of Leonard
Larson. Ken Cook, President of Ken Cook Product Support Systems
shared the story of General Nathan Twining. Duane Esse, WAHF member,
accepted the induction materials on behalf of the Twining family.
Charles Marotske, Vice-President of WAHF introduced Donald K. 'Deke'
Slayton.
Featured speaker of the evening,
Lieutenant General Thomas P Stafford, was introduced by Experimental
Aircraft Association President Paul Poberezny.
